WELCOME TO ELIZABETH FARMS

We raise heritage Mangalitsa pigs on our preserved Pennsylvania farm. The Mangalitsa is a breed that originated in Hungary and was on the verge of extinction just over a decade ago. Developed in the mid-19th century for Hungarian royalty, they are the product of cross-breeding Alföldi Szatlona and Bakony Breeds with the Serbian Sumadia pig. Best identified by their thick, wooly coat of hair, Mangalitsas also have a higher amount of fat compared to your standard Duroc or Hampshire pig. Here at the farm our pigs have over 200 acres of forest, pasture and mud to roam. They live outdoors all year and happily spend their days in the sun foraging, and digging for grubs. This natural farming process helps to produce some of the country's finest natural Mangalitsa pork!
